What’s New: Field Agent is Great New Marketing Research Tool

I love how creative people get when it comes to developing iPhone apps. A new one I’m excited about is Field Agent. Here’s how it works.

Say you, as a business, have an odd task. Maybe you want to see if your retailers are actually stocking your product, or if they’re pricing it according to your agreement. Or maybe you live in California and need a photo of a billboard in New York City. You can create the task, set a price for it (usually a few dollars) and set it up.

iPhone users (like myself) can take jobs. I checked on the price of an item, and I’ve filled out several surveys. Made a few bucks.

Think of the possibilities for market research! Here are some ideas:

  • Find out what your competitors are charging
  • See what product packaging looks like
  • Record speeches at conferences you can’t attend
  • See what homes are selling for in different areas (if you’re a realtor)
  • The list goes on and on!

I encourage you to download the app as an agent to see how it works. Then, when you have a job that someone can do on an iPhone, sign up as a client and get the information you need.
