Just about every success book I've read recently goes into how important it is to ask for what you want. We just started a "What I Want" list in the office and someone put 'a coat stand' on it. Within an hour we had a coat stand arrive because it was sitting in someone's car on the way to a charity shop as she didn't want it anymore... Hope you get your camera and trip to France just as easily :) Asking is the way to go!
