I Heart PRWeb

Written on September 2, 2008 by Susan Payton

If you know anything about press release distribution services, you know not all are created equal. I used to use Marketwire for Egg’s clients, but found them too costly. Plus they base their distribution on geography, which is pretty much irrelevant in today’s era of online PR. I mean, really. The New York Times will NOT be publishing your press release on your latest pet toy.

I currently use PRWeb. It’s affordable and focuses on SEO and social media. And now they have a new tool that I’m all over. Account holders can create their own News Room that displays all their releases over time. Here’s Egg’s:

I love it because I have one place to house my clients’ press releases. It also gives them a boost of SEO. And it’s free! Yay!

Prweb in my opinion is the best… But, you really have to have something that’s news worthy! There are a ton of free press release sites out there, all “wel lets just say you get what you pay for!”

    Loved the post!

Hi, I read on PR Web’s press release on their newsroom, that they don’t charge you til you publish the newsroom. Did they charge you for your newsroom, and if so, how much was the fee? Thanks.

    L.San–
No, they didn’t charge me. I seem to remember something about it being in beta a while back and there being fees in the future, but I just looked at the site and see nothing about it. I guess they realized they shouldn’t charge for it!

Also check out PitchEngine.com. It’s a great new social media press release site I’m experimenting with.
